Guide to bicycle clean-up

Share

This guide is intended for caretakers or local offices facing a bicycle clean-up.

1. Inform residents about the upcoming clean-up

It is important to inform residents about the bicycle clean-up. This can be done, for example, by displaying our poster in several visible locations on the property.

Fill in the date field so residents know the deadline for removing the tags. At least 30 days must pass from the notice given until you may begin collecting the bicycles, preferably longer during the summer holiday period.

2. Place tags on all bicycles on the property

The tags must be clearly visible, and the material should be able to withstand weather conditions. The clean-up may include bicycles in basements, courtyards, and around the exterior wall of the property.

3. Leave the tags in place until the deadline has passed

4. Arrange for bicycles collection

Collection of bicycles must be arranged with the police here. You are not permitted to dispose of the bicycles yourselves. They are considered lost property and must therefore be collected by the police.

5. Place tagged bicycles where the police can collect them

Collect all bicycles where the tag has not been removed. You are allowed to cut free locked bicycles once the 30-day period has passed.

The remaining bicycles should be placed together in an accessible area. It is advisable to clearly mark which bicycles are included and that they may only be removed by the police.

This can, for example, be done using this notice.

Best wishes with your bicycle clean-up!
